Job summary

A therapeutic care organization is seeking a dedicated children's psychotherapist to join their Health and Wellbeing Team in Cumbria. This role focuses on providing therapeutic support to children impacted by trauma through direct interventions and collaboration with care teams. Candidates should have substantial experience working with children, alongside necessary qualifications and a strong understanding of trauma theories. Qualifications

  • Substantial experience working directly with children in a counselling or psychological capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of trauma and attachment theories with practical application.
  • Strong understanding of legislation and safeguarding practices within residential childcare.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group therapy to children, tailoring interventions to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with families and Health and Wellbeing Team to create personalised support strategies.
  • Help teams understand children’s behaviours, offering insight and training.
  • Develop therapeutic plans and reports that make a difference in children’s lives.
  • Use outdoor spaces to engage and inspire children.
  • Flexibly operate from the Penrith Head Office, children’s homes, and occasionally from home.
  • Travel across Cumbria to connect with children and care teams.
