What you’ll gain

Programme structure

Year one

  • Begin your postgraduate diploma.
  • Work directly with children and families in a local authority, supported by experienced tutors and practice educators.
  • Receive a tax-free bursary of £18,000–£20,000 to support living and travel costs.

Years two and three

  • Step into a paid role as a newly qualified social worker (starting salary up to £34,000, with higher pay in some London boroughs).
  • Continue your studies towards your master’s degree
  • Become part of theFrontline Fellowship, a national network offering career-long support, development and opportunities.

As a children’s social worker, you’ll:
