Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric registered nurse with experience or interest in long term conditions to join the children’s epilepsy team. The post holder will be part of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and will deliver high-quality health care, education and support to children and families within the home, school and community settings. The role supports patient safety and service improvement and involves working with the Clinical Manager to oversee daily operations of the Children’s Epilepsy Service.

The post holder will coordinate appropriate services to facilitate early discharge and manage children and young people newly diagnosed with epilepsy at home. They will liaise with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies to ensure seamless epilepsy care, working holistically with families from infancy through adolescence.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Clinical Manager in the daily operational management and leadership of the Children’s Epilepsy Service.
  • Deliver high-quality health care, education and support to children and families within home, school and community settings.
  • Initiate and coordinate appropriate services to facilitate early discharge and care for newly diagnosed epilepsy cases at home.
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and other agencies to provide seamless, high-quality epilepsy care.
  • Work as part of the Children’s Epilepsy multidisciplinary team with a developmental approach from infancy to adolescence.
  • Coordinate, prioritise, delegate and organise the safe and effective running of services in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and senior management teams.
