A local childcare provider in Plymouth is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice to join their team. As an apprentice, you will supervise children's playtime and engage them in various learning activities. You will receive training toward the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard and gain essential childcare qualifications. Little Nippers Nursery, based in Plympton, has been established for over 3 years. They are committed to providing a safe, fun and stimulating environment for children to play, grow and learn. Their management team have Level 4 qualifications and BA Honours degrees and Early Years Foundation Status. The nursery is Ofsted registered and operates 51 weeks a year, from 7am to 6pm, for children aged 0-5. They are committed to inclusion and to helping every child thrive, using Makaton signing throughout the nursery. The premises include daily access to covered outdoor play and a newly landscaped garden, a sensory room, ball pools and a range of nutritious food.
Past Apprentices: Little Nippers has supported and taken on many apprentices in the last 5 years. The employer is keen on training apprentices at Level 2 and progressing to Level 3, with a view to future employment.

Other duties include interacting with young children through daily activities, maintaining a high standard of operation so the nursery runs smoothly, and working with team members. You will be supervised by a qualified member of staff who will explain company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety in the workplace. You will be expected to keep nursery areas tidy and clean at the end of the day, in preparation for the following day.
Training and progression are delivered at the workplace, with regular visits every 6 to 12 weeks from your designated assessor to monitor progression. The apprenticeship supports the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard, with Functional Skills if required. As an additional qualification you will achieve Emergency and Paediatric First Aid, a Health and Safety Certificate, Internet Safety and Safeguarding.
Potential apprentices will work towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard following progress from Level 2, with support from the employer throughout training. All training aims to lead to future employment within the setting.
