Job summary

A childcare training organization is looking for a Modern Apprentice to work in an excellent childcare setting in Glasgow. The role offers the opportunity to assist senior practitioners and gain qualifications towards becoming a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner. Ideal candidates will have a desire to work in Childcare and may include those with a Foundation Apprenticeship in related fields.

We have an amazing opportunity to take on a Modern Apprentice in an excellent childcare setting in Anniesland!

Working with children is a unique career. You will have the chance to shape young lives, inspire creativity, and teach skills they'll use forever. Completing a Modern Apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and knowledge to become a qualified Practitioner.

The successful applicants will assist senior practitioners and train under the general direction of the manager. This is a full-time position.

In a Typical Day You Will Be Involved In

• Setting up the play environment for a fun-filled day of learning
• Implementing planned learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Excellence
• Keeping children safe and well at all times
• Assisting with snacks, lunches, and dinners
• Playing outdoors in all weather!

The Modern Apprenticeship takes approximately 12 months to complete. You will work towards an SVQ 3 in Social Services - Children and Young People. This work-based qualification will lead to becoming a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner. You will be employed by the nursery, and l&g Learning will support your training.

If you have completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field, you will have a head start. Please provide evidence of your qualification and relevant skills gained from your placement.

You should demonstrate a desire to work in Childcare and have some relatable experience. Ideally, you will have a National 5 qualification, including English. However, we will consider applicants without this qualification.

Anyone who has completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in Childcare will be directly shortlisted for the interview stage.
