A major health organisation is seeking a Chief Executive to lead integrated care in Greater Manchester. The role requires proven board-level experience in health, overseeing commissioning, leading transformation programmes and focusing on health inequalities. Exceptional communication and collaborative leadership skills are essential for influencing diverse stakeholders. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The appointment of NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board’s next Chief Executive is a highly influential role in one of England’s largest and most complex Integrated Care Systems. Serving 2.8m people and managing over £8bn of health and care funding, our ICB is central to national reform, and is well positioned to lead strategic commissioning in delivering the three system “shifts” and delegated services.
As Chief Executive, you will be responsible for delivering integrated care that is safer, more equitable, and increasingly shifted into community and prevention settings, guided by the new NHS operating model. You will oversee the commissioning of large-scale specialised services via NHS delegation. You will also lead implementation of the 10 Year Health Plan and navigate the organisation through national cost reduction and governance reforms.
Our new Chief Executive will demonstrate proven board-level experience in health or related public services, with success leading major transformation programmes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You will have a strong track record in strategic commissioning, population health management, or system leadership capable of redeploying resources towards prevention, community care, and digital innovation.
With experience in integrated service delivery, including neighbourhood-based care models, with a focus on tackling health inequalities, you will be skilled in financial stewardship, having led through budgetary constraints and efficiency drives while maintaining or improving outcomes.
Your exceptional communication and influencing abilities will enable you to convene and align NHS providers, local authorities, the Mayor’s office, VCSE and private sector partners, using a collaborative leadership style, that fosters an inclusive and compassionate culture, with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
If you are a strategic thinker with the ability to lead transformational change in a high profile system during a period of national reform, we would like to hear from you. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds who bring both sector and cross-sector experience and fresh perspective.
