Job description

To work as a member of the Science Department and to assist teachers in the efficient operation of their work.

Responsibilities

• To ensure all areas of the Science Department are safe for entry and to ensure all laboratory services are maintained in proper working order.
• To carry out all necessary preparation for practicals (including practical examinations) and assist teaching staff with science activities.
• To assist with the computerised ordering and purchasing of any books or materials required by the Science Department.
• To maintain the science department's audio-visual aids and computer systems in full working order.
• To undertake science reprographic work when requested and to also undertake word processing and administrative duties when requested.

Skills and Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or higher in Maths and English.
• Experience of preparing and undertaking a range of scientific based experiments.
