The Best Connection are looking for a CHEF DE PARTIE for our client's prestigious venue near Howden. This is initially a temporary position with a view to becoming PERMANENT following a successful trial period.

As a Chef within the Kitchen team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a fantastic guest experience and learn plenty about food preparation and delivery at the same time. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel to a high standard.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Documenting each morning what is required before preparing the day's dishes.
  • Cleaning and organising the food preparation area, ensuring COSHH and HACCAP guidelines are achieved.
  • Helping to develop an exceptional team under the guidance of the head chef.
  • Addressing and resolving diners' and clients' complaints quickly.
  • Monitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Ensuring all food products to be prepared are not expired.
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE
  • Great experience in leading banqueting / large functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the kitchen's routines and utensils.
  • Ability to grasp and follow the leading chef's culinary instructions.
  • Knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation.
  • Knowledge of how to maintain and care for culinary utensils.
  • Diplomatic and conflict resolution skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure through rapid deadlines.
  • Be a talented team player.
  • Be proactive and 'ahead of the game' in terms of menu and food development.
  • Own transport due to the remote location.
HOURS, PAY AND BENEFITS
  • Full-time.
  • Permanent position following a successful trial period.
  • Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour subject to skills and experience.
