Salary: College grade 4.5 - 4.9, £29,179 - £32,546 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent | Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (including evenings/weekends on rota)

Due to internal promotion and expansion of the kitchen team, Worcester College is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. We deliver high-quality, diverse cuisine for daily meals, banquets, conferences, and special events. The College has a stunning 26-acre setting in central Oxford with modern facilities and a long-standing culture of culinary excellence.

Responsibilities

In this key role, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and production of food to high standards across our kitchens. You’ll have the opportunity to lead sections, mentor junior chefs, and occasionally take full charge as the duty chef, ensuring excellence in food quality, hygiene, and safety.

What we’re looking for
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ, or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience across different kitchen sections, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to develop your skills
  • Excellent cooking skills across larder, pastry, sauce, and vegetarian dishes
