Eligibility and requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• We are particularly interested in hearing from degree educated professionals who experience economic exclusion and/or disadvantages while looking for work - your professional experience can be from any industry, this does not have to be teaching as you will be provided with full onboarding and support every step of the way.

  • Parents returning to work after a career break

  • Refugees and Asylum seekers (with the right work)

Technical requirements

While you don’t need to be tech-savvy to work at Chatterbox, there are a few requirements to work as a language coach:

• A computer or a laptop with a working web camera
• A quiet, non-distracting space with good lighting
• A fast and reliable internet connection (minimum 3 Mbps upload, 8 Mbps download)

Your progress and rates

Note: This section originally indicated that a degree is not required for the coaching role, and describes onboarding steps and pay. The refined version preserves the content about onboarding and pay.

Onboarding and beyond

Your first step in becoming a Chatterbox Coach will be completing your Coach orientation which is fully online and self-paced. You will receive guidance on how to use our systems, how to facilitate online sessions, and how to use the tools available during sessions. After completing the online orientation, you will be invited to complete a final task – a live 30 minute Coach simulation, and you’ll be paid according to our regular onboarding hourly rate (£8.50).

Chatterbox Professional Coach

On successful completion of online onboarding, you will move on to work with our corporate clients. Your overall hourly rate will be between £10 - £13.15 per coaching hour.

Joining the Coach Platform

You will join our internal coach community with other coaches from around the world. Chatterbox coaches work on a freelance basis, according to when learners book them.

Onboarding and progression steps

1. APPLY- Complete a 15-minute online application. If you meet all requirements, you will be invited to take a 3-hour online Coach orientation.
2. Complete a final task live coaching simulation and receive feedback on your performance.
3. START- Begin working with learners from around the world!
