Chartered Associate Fire Engineer

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Chartered Associate Fire Engineer to join their established fire engineering team in Birmingham or Manchester. This organisation works on complex, high-profile projects across the built environment and is now looking to strengthen its senior technical capability due to continued growth.

Chartered Associate Fire Engineer - Role
  • Leading the delivery of fire engineering design, fire strategy development and engineered solutions
  • Overseeing modelling outputs, including CFD analysis and evacuation modelling, ensuring technical accuracy and quality
  • Managing and coordinating project teams, acting as technical lead and senior point of contact for clients
  • Mentoring and supervising Graduate and Intermediate Engineers, supporting their pathway to chartership
  • Providing expert guidance on building regulations, fire safety standards and legislative compliance
  • Assist with tender submissions and PQQ completions
  • Engaging confidently with clients, design teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Supporting business development activities and contributing to continued growth within the region
  • Driving technical excellence and contributing to internal standards, procedures and best practice
Chartered Fire Engineer / Associate Fire Engineer Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status - essential
  • Extensive experience working as a Chartered Associate Fire Engineer or equivalent senior-level position
  • Strong technical capability in fire engineering design, modelling, and development of fire strategies
  • Proficiency with modelling tools
  • Excellent understanding of UK fire safety legislation, building regulations and industry guidance
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and consultancy skills, with confidence engaging clients at senior level
  • Ability to support and mentor engineers progressing toward chartership
  • Desire to contribute to technical excellence, innovation and long-term business growth
