Job summary

A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking a Charge Nurse for its Cath Labs. The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical care for cardiology patients, support junior staff, and work across multiple hospitals. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in Cath Labs and a current NMC registration. This role comes with a competitive salary ranging from £44,485 to £52,521 per annum, inclusive of HCAS.

Charge Nurse - Cath Labs

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Catheter Labs for a Band 6 Registered Nurse to join our dynamic and friendly team. If you are enthusiastic, flexible and passionate about cardiology then this would be an ideal opportunity for you to join our team and gain further skills and knowledge. It is also an opportunity to bring your ideas to the team.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience within the cardiac catheterisation lab with experience at band 5 level.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to work across both Northwick Park and Ealing Hospital. Within these two sites there are three Cardiac Catheter labs and a day care unit on each site. You will support the band 7 Clinical Nurse Managers across the sites to maintain and audit the quality standards for the areas and support with staff management.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients before and after cardiac procedures, including diagnostic coronary angiograms, PCI, rotoblation, shockwave therapy, permanent pacemaker implants – including complex devices and ILR implants. They will collaborate with consultants, support the Lead Nurse, and help with the line management of junior team members.

The role requires working within the catheter lab as either a circulating nurse or a scrub nurse.

During procedures, the nurse will act as the patient's advocate and provide assistance to members of the multidisciplinary team as needed.

The post holder will also ensure the delivery of high‑quality nursing care within the cardiology day care unit.

There will also be opportunities to expand in your clinical role in activities such as nurse‑led ILR procedures.
