Overview
We are expanding with exciting growth plans and six new roles to support the opening of 3 new centres across Luton, Norwich and Peterborough. With the new centres opening ahead of the new academic year, we are looking for new employees to join us on 1st June.
Duties
- Leadership & Management – Take the lead on all centre administration as per the Operational Excellence Framework (OEF) and manage weekly checks/returns: ICT, Registers, Bursary, Programme, Asset Returns, TAM, Staff Recruitment, Welfare, Facebook, MD Memo, Quality, FCA System.
- Teaching & Learning – Ensure you and your staff keep up to date with subject knowledge to keep lessons challenging. Maintain industrial knowledge by attending annual events such as Reserve Training Camps/Events, Look at Life, Familiarisation with Acquaint Days, Assessment Centres. Promote MPCT/Learning Curve Group values in all lessons.
- Ensure assessment is used to inform learners on how to improve knowledge and that learning is checked for effective progress, providing clear, directed, timely support with notable improvement in learning.
- Prepare demanding lessons that enable learners to realise their potential. Ensure the curriculum delivers lessons on physical and emotional wellbeing. Ensure resources reflect and value the diversity of learners’ experiences and provide a comprehensive understanding of people and communities beyond their immediate experience.
- Identify learners who are falling behind and support them to catch up. Set challenging individual targets for all learners. Support the development of Maths & English for all learners.
- Ensure all work experience is tracked via the FCA in England to confirm learners are embracing opportunities with MPCT / Learning Curve Group partner employers. Deliver learner induction and interview potential new recruits. Ensure the MPCT MIS Inspire is kept up to date with learner details and tracking of performance, qualifications, attendance and progressions.
- Ensure all progress reviews support learners’ educational development. Deliver physical training using the MPCT bib system during all sessions. Deliver Military Training (MTD) following the military skills portfolios scheme of work in a cyclical manner. Listen to the views of learners and parents to improve teaching and learning. Attend regular training on teaching and learning provided by MPCT / Learning Curve Group.
- Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare – Create an environment that gives learners confidence to discuss and debate with respect for others. Celebrate learners’ achievements and provide support, guidance and advice for learners, customers and colleagues. Conduct role in line with company values and expected behaviours. Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health & Safety policies and remain vigilant to potential concerns and risks. Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

As a Centre Manager you are expected to commit unwaveringly to high expectations for conduct and achievement from all staff and learners within your centre. This will be measured by six Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

- Attendance 90%
- Retention 90%
- Qualifications 90%
- Progressions 90%
- Military Progressions 40%

Qualifications and desirable experience
- Experience of working within one of the uniformed services (e.g., army, navy, air force) (minimum 3 years).
- Military or civilian Physical Training qualification (desirable).
- GCSEs Maths & English (desirable but essential).
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching or instructing.
- Experience of working with young people.
