We are working closely alongside with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of a Central Service Charge Team Manager on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £29.22- £38.56 per hour

Summary

The Central Service Charge Team Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management, accuracy, and timely delivery of all residential and commercial service charge operations. This includes leading and motivating an internal customer-facing support team to ensure the accurate calculation, construction, and issuing of both estimated and actualised service charges. The manager will be instrumental in driving compliance with all legal deadlines, contractual agreements, and internal policies, while also leading significant change management initiatives to optimise service charge data, systems, and processes across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a dedicated internal customer-facing support team, fostering a collaborative, ‘one team’ working approach.
  • Oversee the accurate calculation, construction, and issuing of estimate and actualised service charges, ensuring strict compliance with all legal deadlines and contractual agreements.
  • Co‑ordinate the data and configuration aspects of the annual service charge processes, including data loading, estimate and actual setting, and letter production within statutory deadlines.
  • Ensure rigorous quality assurance on all service charging processes, including leading on internal audits and subsequent reporting.
  • Interpret complex documents and numerical data, and present analysis and conclusions in a clear, easy‑to‑understand way, both in person and in writing.
  • Lead on high‑impact projects designed to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
Essentials
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and statutory framework surrounding service charges and current legislative requirements.
  • Proven, strong people management experience, including success in mentoring, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Excellent financial and numeracy skills with the ability to accurately handle complex accounts and budgets.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • A strong, demonstrable understanding of residential and commercial service charge management.
