Central Control Room Coordinator

The Central Control Room Coordinator ensures safety by electronically controlling and monitoring movement within a correctional facility.

  • Monitors and operates camera systems touch screen computers radio system intercoms and other specialized audio visual technology.
  • Identifies and reports safety hazards security threats disturbances alarms and any irregularities to the appropriate supervisors
  • Electronically operates doors and gates and allows entry and exits after visual identification of staff members and ID badges throughout the facility and sally ports
  • Activates security staff to any area of the facility where assistance is needed
  • Responsible for back up panel control in all housing areas
  • Maintains electronic daily logs
  • Interacts with and directs visitors to the facility
  • Answers telephones and routes calls appropriately and provides basic information to the public regarding inmates and jail policies
  • Notifies and communicates with outside agencies during emergencies
  • Provides and receives briefing to oncoming and off going staff

This is a full time civilian position that is considered essential personnel. Hiring for the 1100 to 1900 Shift Monday - Friday. Must have the ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize in a fast paced environment. No direct inmate contact. Excellent computer skills and a high school diploma are required. Previous law enforcement or corrections experience preferred.
