Job description
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Clinical / Counselling Psychologist or BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist with substantial CBT experience to offer clinical leadership and supervision to qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). The role includes leading on clinical audits and performance reports for the team. Experience and training in one of the non-CBT based treatment modalities (especially Behavioural Couples Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy or EMDR) will be an advantage.

About Wandsworth Talking Therapies

Wandsworth Talking Therapies offers evidence-based psychological treatments (e.g., CBT, IPT, DIT) to people with common mental health problems (depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders) within a stepped-care model. The service is professionally managed by a Consultant Psychologist and operationally managed by a Service Manager. The clinical team includes qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, High Intensity CBT Practitioners, and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who provide evidence-based psychological interventions in line with NICE guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the clinical team, including caseload monitoring and support for clinicians.
  • Lead on clinical audits and produce performance reports for the team.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to ensure high-quality clinical services and alignment with national targets (e.g., DNA policy, session limits, treatment waiting times).
  • Assist in improving patient access at Step 1-3 and promote adherence to service guidelines.
  • Offer psychological assessments and individual treatment at Step 3 as part of clinical work.
  • Collaborate with the SMT to maintain service quality and drive continuous service improvement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist with substantial CBT experience.
  • Experience in clinical leadership, supervision, and working within a Talking Therapies service.
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Talking Therapies programme; ability to motivate others.
  • Experience or training in non-CBT treatments (e.g., Behavioural Couples Therapy, IPT, EMDR) is advantageous.
