Are you passionate about food service and excited to take on a role that blends meal preparation with stock management in a busy, professional kitchen? As a Catering Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of our college refectory. From preparing fresh meals and managing stock to maintaining health and safety standards, your skills will help create a welcoming and efficient environment for staff and students.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Bistro Service Leader in delivering an efficient and high‑quality refectory service for staff and students.
  • Assist with preparing meals, including sandwiches, hot snacks, and lunch items, following planned menus.
  • Help manage stock inventory by monitoring levels, restocking supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and meets health and safety standards in both training and refectory areas.
  • Support 16‑19 students during work‑related learning activities, providing guidance and maintaining a safe, professional environment.
Qualifications
  • A Level 2 or above qualification in a relevant subject area, including cookery.
  • Practical experience in ordering and managing stock, including food produce.
  • A strong understanding of equality & diversity, safeguarding, and prevent, and how these impact learning and assessment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to high standards, continuous improvement, and a solution‑focused approach.
