A local educational institution in Tamworth is seeking a Catering Supervisor to prepare meals and ensure the catering service meets school specifications. The role involves supervising staff, managing food safety, and preparing special dietary meals. This part-time position (23 hours per week) offers a permanent contract and operates during term times. Applicants are encouraged to have skills in cooking, food safety, and relevant administrative duties.
CATERING SUPERVISOR
Grade 4 Scale Point 5- £13,456 per annum
Hours per week - 23 hours
Contract Type – Permanent
Working pattern – Term time only + one Inset Day
We are looking to appoint a friendly and reliable catering supervisor to work alongside the catering assistant to prepare meals and serve them to our children and staff.
You will be responsible for the operation of the catering service to the required standard of the school specifications and also assisting the management company with training and the development of staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Support to Pupils
· Skilled cooking and preparation activities
· Preparation of special dietary meals
· Ordering supplies and stock control
· Control of food safety, allergens and health and safety
· Administrative duties, including the use of a computer
· Direction, supervision and training of staff
· Setting up and clearing away of service points
· Movement of furniture and dining equipment
· Washing up
· Cleaning kitchens, equipment and surrounding areas
· Cleaning dining furniture and equipment
· Other related duties as directed.
