Catering Supervisor

Contract: Healthcare

Location: East Kilbride, G75 8RG

Hours of work: 37

Working Pattern: Alternate weekly between day and evening shifts

Contract Type: Permanent

Hourly Rate: £14.52

The purpose of this role is to support the Retail Catering Manager in delivering a high‑performing and fully compliant Costa Coffee operation within an NHS hospital environment.

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that excellent customer service is consistently provided and that all operational standards are maintained.

The role also involves leading and motivating the team to achieve high levels of performance. In addition, the Supervisor must ensure full compliance with all health, safety, food hygiene, and contractual requirements set out in the PFI agreement.

This position requires strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a healthcare setting.

The Role
  • Support the daily operation of the Costa store and act as the senior person in the Retail Catering Manager’s absence.
  • Lead shift operations, including staff deployment, break management, stock control, and cash handling.
  • Create staff rotas in conjunction with the Retail Catering Manager.
  • Supervise and coach team members, ensuring adherence to operational, uniform, and customer service standards.
  • Maintain Costa brand standards in product quality, store presentation, and overall customer experience.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure sensitivity when serving within a healthcare environment.
  • Manage and escalated customer complaints as required.
  • Support stock ordering, delivery checks, waste control, and stock rotation.
  • Work collaboratively with ISS teams and hospital partners to meet contractual requirements and audit standards.
