Job description
Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to join our busy team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the plating up of patients’ meals
  • Wash all returning pots and trolleys; undertake general cleaning duties with economical use of materials and equipment
  • Record all information requested by management
  • Work without supervision at the stated place of work, with potential to work at any of the Trust’s Kitchens
  • Clean premises and equipment to the required standards and frequencies as laid down in cleaning schedules and departmental hygiene policy
  • Operate and clean an automatic dishwasher
  • Plate up patients’ meals ready for distribution to wards
  • Carry out temperature probing of meals and accurately record temperatures in accordance with the department’s HACCP procedure
  • Collect patients’ daily food requirements, take certain items to wards, and ensure correct storage, rotation, and maintenance of minimum/maximum stock levels
  • Handle cash in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures (where applicable)
  • Complete all appropriate documentation
