We are seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our warm and caring team. Working in a dementia care home, you’ll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that support our residents’ health and wellbeing. This position requires sensitivity, patience, and a genuine desire to make mealtimes an enjoyable and comforting part of each resident’s day.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of hot and cold meals, following dietary guidelines and individual needs
• Support residents during mealtimes with dignity and respect
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas in line with food safety standards
• Monitor food stock levels and communicate with senior staff regarding suppliesHelp with setting up tables and clearing away after meals
• Communicate warmly with residents and contribute to a positive dining experience
• Collaborate with care staff to understand individual dietary needs and preferences

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a catering environment
• Knowledge of food safety and food hygiene
• Understanding of dementia and the importance of person-centered care
