Overview

As a Catering Assistant, your main duties involve the preparation and maintenance of dining and service areas. This includes tasks such as setting up furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment, as well as ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. You will be responsible for serving food in correct portions and washing dishes, cutlery, and other catering equipment. Daily cleaning of all catering areas is essential and you may also be required to undergo additional training which we will provide.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and other catering equipment.
  • Perform daily cleaning of all catering areas.
  • Undergo additional training as provided.
  • Cash collection and banking.
  • Maintain records and procedures.
  • Undertake key holding responsibilities.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, managers and colleagues with excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Previous catering experience in a similar environment is desirable.
  • Basic Food Hygiene and basic Health and Safety certificates are desirable; these certifications are not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
  • A strong passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability, attention to detail, and willingness to take on different tasks as needed.
