Overview

The Category Management team is a dynamic team responsible for expert analysis, account management, and future vision. Our goal is to influence and drive the sales of the magazine category at retailers, and advise on revenue generation, optimum range balance, and sales driving display solutions. We are the experts in the magazine category, and use our knowledge and analysis to deliver change at retail.

What you'll be doing

The purpose of a Category Manager is to manage Marketforce's Category Partnerships and provide ranging and visual merchandising solutions that improve the shopper experience in store and drive magazine revenue. You will:

  • Retail relationship – to manage the daily relationship with retailers to establish a relationship of trust, and deliver advice that supports the growth and operation of the magazine category.
  • Range Reviews – to run the full range review process managing the retailer's requirements and competitor distributors. Provide full analysis and construct sales arguments to drive retailer revenue. Provide display solutions that support the category.
  • Performance analysis – provide retail analysis that shows how the retailer is performing, with clear recommendations as to what action needs taking. Review all initiatives undertaken with the retailer, and build on them to drive retail revenues.
  • Strategy – maintain a long term and short term strategy plan alongside the Senior Category Manager to drive innovation and market share increases
  • Market trends and Competitor Monitoring – monitor trends in the market and provide recommendations as to how the retailer should respond.
