Casualty Claims Handler

Department: Claims Management

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Stoke

Description

Location: Stoke-on-Trent/Hybrid - one day per week at our premises.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Davies is seeking a talented individual to join our Casualty team in Stoke. In this role, you will provide top-notch claims service to our clients, proactively handling claims in line with the insurer’s philosophy, therefore, the successful candidate will ideally have experience with Liability Claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Assessment: Establish if cover is in place for the claim and record all claims on the digital claims-handling system to ensure that all MI data is consistently and accurately recorded.
  • Claims Investigation: To investigate claims either directly via desktop, or by instructing loss adjusters.
  • Liability Decisions: Make informed decisions on liability.
  • Settlement Negotiations: Negotiating claim settlements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs.
  • Relationship Building: Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Client Meetings: If required, attend client claim review meetings either in person when required or on Microsoft Teams platform.

  • Liability Claims Handling experience
  • A professional and adaptable communication style – both written and verbal;
  • Efficient administrative skills;
  • Strong numeracy, literacy, and IT skills;
  • A proactive attitude, and an enthusiastic approach

  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions, indemnity processes

  • Current case law and assessment of personal injury valuation and negotiations.
