We are now looking for Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the North Hertfordshire area , working across various locations such as Stevenage,Buntingford &Hitchin.
We will Provide 1 : 1 support to children and adults who have been born with sight and hearing impairments – known as congenital Deafblindness.
Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.
You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals that have dual-sensory impairments, often combined with other disabilities. So you do not require any existing professional care experience!
It is essential for you to have a full UK license with the use of your own vehicle.
We are currently recruiting for bank / relief Intervenor's. There may be an opportunity for permanent roles where required across the service, based on the needs of the individual / ’s we support. The following hours are are currently available in North Hertfordshire, but may be subject to change. You can ask the team more about Bank / Relief work at interview.
Are you in or able to access the Buntingford area? We have a young child who enjoys sensory interaction, stories, and engagement with others.
Are you free for 2-4hrs per week after school to support them to have fun and develop their skills?
We have one child in Stevenage who require support twice a week for 2 hours each visit.
You will be working towards supporting the children to enable them to enjoy play and learning through sensory based activities whilst gaining new skills and having fun!
Do you have an interest in sensory interaction and development of an individual’s communication skills? Do you have a passion for music and water activities?
If you do, we have an individual in the Stevenage area who would enjoy your support 2-4 hours per week.
We have an adult in Stevenage would like support to go out in the local community twice a week for 3hrs each time to visit the library, challenge others to a game of pool, enjoy a cup of tea while have a sing along to favourite songs and visiting places to explore his interest in motor vehicles. Do you share similar interests?
Do you have access to the Hitchin area to support a young lady who enjoys art and socialising if you do and have 3 hours free per week, it would be great if you also have existing knowledge of British Sign Language! Or just interested in supporting an individual to participate in a variety of activities and to enable them to have a social outlet.
We have a young adult who likes to have support to build their independence skills around the home with tasks such as cooking and out in the community with their mobility to increase their own independence. They have an interest in the gym, socialising and trying new things. Do you have up to 4 hours per week to support this young person to have different experiences?
