Job summary

A local government authority in Scotland is seeking a dedicated individual for a customer-facing role. The successful applicant will provide effective reception services and engage positively with customers while supporting administrative tasks. Community Use is the team that works to ensure halls, community centres and schools in Fife are available for learning, leisure, life and cultural events. Together with partners we deliver a programme of inclusive pursuits including physical activity and sport, performing arts, arts and crafts, cookery, modern languages, and vocational training. We also offer space for meetings, celebrations, and community events in modern and historic buildings in the Kingdom’s city, towns and villages.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to the support officer and undertaking a frontline customer facing role.
  • Engaging with customers and service users in a positive manner and responding to enquiries by answering telephones, emails, and face-to-face contacts, as well as operating booking procedures and systems.
  • Providing an efficient reception service to the public and ensuring adherence to customer care policies and service guidelines.
  • Working in accordance with health and safety policy and following risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
  • Being a member of an area team providing administrative and clerical support to Community Use.
  • Maintaining registers and waiting lists, cashing up and reconciling cash against booking sheets and registers, and escalating complaints, comments and compliments as appropriate.
  • Occasionally working alone; travel between facilities may be required, and a driving licence is not essential.

  • Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
