Job description
The Role

We are currently recruiting to our casual pool of Music Tutors to deliver inspirational music sessions to individuals, small groups and whole classes of primary and secondary aged students. We are interested in hearing from all musicians but in this round of recruitment we are particularly interested in hearing from upper brass tutors. The range of musical tuition we provide includes both regular and ad-hoc working within mainstream and specialist schools and in our dedicated music centre.

At Tameside Music Service, we are an inclusive and progressive team working throughout Tameside and Greater Manchester. We are committed to offering equitable and relevant musical opportunities to young people in our locality and region through our partnership with the Greater Manchester Music Education Hub and numerous other organisations such as Brighter Sound, Royal Northern College of Music and BIMM.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience of facilitating informal music sessions or classroom music sessions
  • The ability to monitor, respond and plan for progress
  • Knowledge of different repertoire/portfolios/specific skills for your specialism
  • The ability to teach an additional instrument or skill would be an advantage
  • If successful after interview an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring check will need to be completed
  • Driving licence and your own transport is preferred
