A community-focused organization in Nottingham seeks a passionate Casual Chef to prepare fresh, locally sourced meals. Responsibilities include developing seasonal menus and providing quality service for events. The historic Malt Cross is an iconic bar and kitchen in the heart of Nottingham City Centre. The venue has been welcoming and serving customers to its famous bar for almost 150 years.
We are looking for a new Casual Chef to join our team, primarily Friday to Monday shifts but potential for growth and flexibility as we intend to grow the business in the future.

On a day to day basis, you can expect your role to include:
We are looking for someone passionate about food and ingredients who has had experience as a Chef in a smaller kitchen environment. With experience in either café style kitchen or larger restaurant kitchen, you will be comfortable working as part of a small team where team spirit is everything.
This is a busy and varied role and you must be able to flexible to meet the needs of the kitchen on any given day.
From your experience, you will have a strong awareness of current food industry product trends as well as a good working knowledge of Health and Safety and Food and Drink preparation practices; being Advance Hygiene Qualified or CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualified and/or holding NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation or equivalent qualification is desirable.
As to be expected with a role of this nature, evenings and weekends shifts will form the majority of your shifts.
