Overview

We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Carpentry Technician to join our Construction department.

This post would suit an individual who has achieved their own Carpentry qualifications or who has a background in Carpentry themselves and understands the basic principles. Candidates will be enthusiastic, self-motivated with excellent communication skills, and with a committed approach to your work you will maintain a high quality learning environment for our learners.

Responsibilities

Based in the Construction area of our Technology department this exciting post will involve; supporting students in their learning of practical skills in the Brickwork workshops, supervising and maintaining workshops ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. You will also be responsible for ordering stock, maintaining a stock of consumables and preparing materials for student activities as well as the cleaning and maintenance of the equipment.

Qualifications
  • Level 2 vocational qualification in Carpentry (or related subject)
  • Knowledge/industry experience of Carpentry
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Full First Aid Qualification (or willing to obtain)
  • A pro-active approach and be able to work on their own initiative
