Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Coldingley, a category C adult male prison. The Facilities Maintenance Team supports the smooth and safe operation of the site, contributing to the safety of prisoners, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Coldingley, contributing to safe and secure operations within the prison environment.
• Perform carpenter and locksmith duties as required, working alongside experienced colleagues across trades to maintain facilities.
• Assist with the safe operation of power tools and machinery as part of daily maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with other teams (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, administrators) to deliver a coordinated service.

Qualifications

• Substantiated experience in a similar role.
• Competency in the use and operation of all associated power tools and machinery.
• Basic IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
• Up to date First Aid at Work Qualification.
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification or substantial experience.
• Good Health & Safety knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
