Salary: £36,678.26
Contract: Full time/permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter inc Locksmith to join our team at HMP Chelmsford, a Category B, Male prison.

HMP Chelmsford operates like a self-contained city, requiring hundreds of staff to function. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, we are committed to ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As a Carpenter inc Locksmith, you will work alongside experienced colleagues, including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

We are a Ministry of Justice business providing critical services to HMPPS, seeking a Carpenter inc Locksmith with:

  1. Substantiated experience in a similar role
  2. Competency in the use of power tools and machinery

  4. Knowledge of health and safety requirements
  5. Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification
  6. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry or equivalent experience
  7. Good health and safety knowledge
  8. Excellent organizational and people skills
