Job description

Salary: £25,600 per annum
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone

As a Preoperative Assessment Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all patients undergoing clinical procedures at KIMS Hospital are safely and effectively assessed prior to admission.

You will be a strong and empathetic Care Support Worker with a passion for preoperative assessment and a commitment to delivering healthcare at its best. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support Worker.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, with shifts between 07:45 – 20:15, Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings on a rota basis.

Role Responsibilities
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions, including taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight prior to clinic appointments.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient care records
  • Talking to patients to help reduce anxiety and provide reassurance
  • Treating all patients with respect and dignity while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
  • Supporting nursing staff within the Pre-assessment Clinic
Person Specification
  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Enthusiastic with a genuine interest in caring for people
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of mental resilience in a changing and often challenging environment
  • Highly committed, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
