A healthcare practice in Chorley is seeking a Receptionist to provide high-quality service to patients and clinicians. You will manage appointments, handle requests, and communicate effectively with visitors. The ideal candidate has solid communication skills, computer proficiency, and previous experience in a customer-focused role. Offering £12.40 to £12.50 per hour after the probationary period, this role is on-site with specific working hours.
To ensure that the reception area and communication of the Practice runs smoothly, provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.

Hours: 26.25 per week, 8.00am - 1.15pm, with possibility of 1 in 4 Saturdays.
We are a large forward-thinking practice with more than 17,200 patients, based in purpose-built premises, in the centre of Chorley. We have a multidisciplinary, clinical team made up of Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Pharmacists, First Contact Physios, a range of specialised Nurses and Health Care Assistants. The practice benefits from a new management team which you would be joining which is led by the Practice Business Manager who is supported by an Assistant Manager, a Finance Manager, a IT and Operations Manager, an Appointment Book Manager and an ANP and Nurse Manager.
Conduct telephone and face to face contact with patients in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.
Care-navigate/signpost patients to the most appropriate health care professional ensuring appointments are allocated where required in line with practice protocol and procedure.
Greet and direct patients and visitors.
Respond to general enquiries
Taking requests for prescriptions
Handing out prescriptions
Receive specimens from patients in line with relevant policy, procedure and health and safety / infection control requirements
Respond to requests for test results, in line with practice protocol
Take requests for home visits in line with practice protocol
Liaise with associated Health Care Professionals
Register new patients and temporary residents
Respond to needs of the clinical team during surgery
Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
Communicating with patients by letter using Microsoft Word
Input and extract information from Practice computer system
Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary
