Job description

The Triangle Care Home is a small and friendly purpose-built nursing home offering a spacious and comfortable environment and 24-hour care and support for older adults.

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team for up to 23 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and ensure the good reputation of the home.
  2. Maintain complete confidentiality of all matters concerning the Home, Clients, staff, and related work.
  3. Purchase fresh foods daily from local suppliers.
  4. Order frozen foods weekly from nominated suppliers.
  5. Check regularly that supplier prices are competitive.
  6. Account for all monies issued and receipts obtained.
  7. Prepare menus as agreed with the Manager.
  8. Prepare nutritional food to a high standard, taking into account any special dietary requirements.
  9. Ensure that kitchen staff clear dishes quickly and tidily.
  10. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.
  11. Conduct all procedures within the home with regard to food hygiene, promote choice and independence, and contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle for each resident. Follow Health and Safety legislation, Emergency, and Fire procedures.
  12. Report any faulty appliances, damaged equipment, or potential hazards to the Manager.
  13. Adhere to all Group policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
  14. Undertake other duties as necessary.
  15. Attend training courses and sessions as required. Take responsibility for personal development by seeking opportunities and sharing aspirations with others.
