Overview

As a Care and Maintenance Project Manager, you'll lead a critical programme that supports the UK's submarine capability – a role that truly makes a difference to national security. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for building and developing an integrated Project Delivery team that works together to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Leading and coaching a multi‑disciplined Project team to deliver against key milestones
• Managing stakeholder relationships, including the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
• Developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress
• Overseeing budgets, resources and subcontractor performance
• Driving effective risk, change and issue management across the project lifecycle
• This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2‑3 days in the office/onsite and 2‑3 days working from home.

Essential Experience

• Proven leadership and team coaching experience
• Strong track record in managing and delivering engineering projects
• Expertise in APM competencies: schedule, risk, change control, budgeting
• Experience working within a matrix organisation
• Excellent stakeholder management skills

Qualifications

• APM Project Management Qualification (preferable)
• APM Project Risk Management Level 2 (preferable)
• Degree qualified (desirable)
• APM Chartered Professional (ChPP) or Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)
• Commercial qualification (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
