Overview

As a Care and Maintenance Project Manager, you'll lead a critical programme that supports the UK's submarine capability – a role that truly makes a difference to national security. This is an opportunity to influence outcomes that matter, while advancing your career in a dynamic and highly respected sector. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for building and developing an integrated Project Delivery team that works together to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and coaching a multi‑disciplined Project team to deliver against key milestones
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, including the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
  • Developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress
  • Overseeing budgets, resources and subcontractor performance
  • Driving effective risk, change and issue management across the project lifecycle
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2‑3 days in the office/onsite and 2‑3 days working from home.
Essential Experience
  • Proven leadership and team coaching experience
  • Strong track record in managing and delivering engineering projects
  • Expertise in APM competencies: schedule, risk, change control, budgeting
  • Experience working within a matrix organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
  • APM Project Management Qualification (preferable)
  • APM Project Risk Management Level 2 (preferable)
  • Degree qualified (desirable)
  • APM Chartered Professional (ChPP) or Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)
  • Commercial qualification (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
