Job description

We are looking to recruit a Care Advocate to join us at HavenCourt. You will hold an NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care and/or have experience working in the care of older people, re-ablement services and/or with dementia.

About the Home: We are an innovatively designed and purpose‑built, Nursing Home. We specialise in residential and nursing care, dementia care and re‑ablement. We aim to provide the highest quality of health and social care services to residents who live across South Tyneside. We are conveniently located on Harton Lane, South Shields.

Main duties of the job

You will have practical experience of implementing person‑centred care and have effective communication and problem‑solving skills. You will be caring and compassionate in your approach, be able to work calmly under pressure and have a strong commitment to respecting the rights of the residents at all times.

You will be flexible to menj the needs of the service and be able to meet the requirements of the shift pattern which includes a combination of long days, early shifts, late shifts and rotation onto night shift. The roster covers 7 days of the week, 24 hours per day. Full time, part time and flexible working is available and consideration would be given to a predominately night shift working roster if requested. Your training and developmental learning needs will be supported.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Maths and English at level 1 or above (GCSE A‑E or equivalent).

  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • NVQ level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, Customer Service or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a care environment with older people and dementia.
  • Care Certificate.
