My client, a leading textile manufacturer, is looking for a hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve carding machinery, drive reliability, and support continuous improvement in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and respond to equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to improve machine performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and support improvement projects.
  • Mentor operators and apprentices to build internal capability.
  • Reduce contractor reliance through robust engineering solutions.
  • Assist with spare parts management and asset planning.
  • Ensure all work meets health, safety, and environmental standards.
Experience & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with carding machinery in manufacturing is a must.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Team player who can also work independently.
  • Clear communicator with strong documentation skills.
  • Proactive, safety‑focused, and reliability‑driven.
