A leading investment management organization is seeking a Carbon Project Manager to ensure high standards are met across its global forest carbon projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, superior communication skills, and a passion for sustainability practices. This role includes project management, collaboration with technical consultants, and engagement with stakeholders. Based in Chicago, consideration is also given to candidates in New York, Seattle, or Sao Paulo. Occasional travel within the US and internationally is required.
The BTG Pactual Timberland Investment Group’s (“TIG”) mission is to sustainably manage the world’s timberlands. TIG is one of the world’s largest timberland investment management organizations globally, with assets and commitments under management of US$ 7.3B across nearly 3M acres in the U.S. and Latin America. TIG’s team consists of over 160 professional staff located in 21 offices across the U.S., Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. TIG’s work is supported by regional collaborations with The Nature Conservancy, who serves as Conservation Adviser to TIG’s core timberland strategy in the U.S., and Conservation International, who serves as Impact Adviser to TIG’s reforestation strategy in Latin America.
TIG seeks a Carbon Project Manager to join our team in Chicago, Illinois (consideration will also be given to New York, Seattle or Sao Paulo, Brazil).
Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager, the Carbon Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring that TIG’s forest carbon projects meet high standards and integrity across its global footprint while innovating new ways to deliver on the massive potential of forests to mitigate climate change, halt and reverse biodiversity loss, and supporting equitable rural development.
Preference given for hiring to TIG’s Chicago office. Seattle, New York and Sao Paulo, Brazil, will also be considered. Periodic travel within the US and internationally required.
