Job summary

Job description

Flintshire and Wrexham CAMHS are excited to advertise a Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner post to join our East CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway (SPEED). This is a full‑time, permanent post, and a relocation package is available.

Service Overview

East CAMHS provides a 0‑18 service to children, young people and families, offering early intervention and prevention, unscheduled care and a broad range of NICE‑recommended and evidence‑based interventions.

Team

Clinicians involved in the SPEED pathway form a multidisciplinary team of Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Family Therapy, CAMHS Practitioners and Dietetics, with strong links to Paediatrics under a hub‑and‑spoke model.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Act as a key member of the East CAMHS SPEED pathway, ensuring the provision of highly specialist services to young people and families.
  • Manage referrals, undertake assessments, and deliver evidence‑based interventions for eating disorder/disordered eating presentations.
  • Coordinate care and participate in the weekly multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Contribute to service evaluation, development and outcome measurement.
  • Exercise autonomy within professional guidelines and govern clinical practice within the pathway.
Training & Supervision

Appropriate training will be provided to support the successful candidate, and regular clinical supervision will be offered.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Current Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner role with relevant clinical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of eating‑disorder assessment and interventions.
  • Experience working with children and young people in a community or CAMHS setting.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh.
  • Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
