Job description

Overview

Two 37.5 hours per week posts in Calderdale and Kirklees CAMHS, Eating Disorder team, including development of the ARFID pathway. These posts form part of a service development to provide additional support to the Eating Disorder Team and embed an ARFID pathway to meet the needs of children, young people and their families.

By identifying children and young people earlier and providing the right support, the team will work with families to create a dedicated treatment plan to prevent escalation, reduce long-term difficulties, and decrease pressures in the ED and acute services. The role is based in a community team that works during weekdays across Calderdale and Kirklees. Support is offered from the team and wider service, and professional development is encouraged.

The successful candidate will be part of the Eating Disorder pathway and will support the team in developing and driving this pathway within the service, including service development based on best practice guidelines and existing research and evidence. The role involves delivering high-quality interventions following care planning, treatment and regular reviews (CPA) with qualified practitioners for children and young people who meet the criteria of the pathway with a diagnosis/presentation of both Eating Disorders and ARFID.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality interventions following care planning, treatment and regular reviews (CPA) from the qualified practitioners in the team for children and young people with Eating Disorders and ARFID.
• Provide daily meal support for young people as part of the pathway.
• Offer group work or packages of intervention for parents and for young people as agreed with qualified staff.
• Engage with service users effectively and work well within a team; receive regular supervision and line management to ensure support and delivery of high standards.
• Support service development guided by best practice guidelines and existing research and evidence.

Additional Information

Visa sponsorship under the Health and Care Worker visa route can only be considered if the prorated salary meets the minimum threshold of £25,000, as required by UK Visas and Immigration. For Band 3 roles, only full-time positions at the top of the pay scale meet this threshold. Therefore, sponsorship may not be possible depending on salary increment placement and working hours.
