Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with young people, their families/carers who are suffering from complex serious mental illness in a variety of settings during crisis and post crisis using a range of therapeutic approaches and interventions. As per ABUHB policies we would be open to considering flexi hours working and negotiable to part time hours for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

To have the necessary interpersonal skills to develop a therapeutic alliance with emotionally distressed young people and their families/carers. To have the necessary professionalism to provide containment to concerned professionals outside of service. To provide a responsive and equitable service to young people experiencing a mental health crisis requiring specialist intensive support mainly in the community or inpatient settings. To be competent in identifying Safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals. To participate in a range of multi‑disciplinary discussions and care planning with other professionals. To maintain effective electronic systems for recording, reporting and distributing clinical information.

Essential criteria

• Sufficient experience post qualification
• Experience working in CAMHS

Desirable criteria

• Specialising in care and treatment of young people with complex mental health problems and disorders
• Experience of WARRN Risk formulation and safety planning

Provide a clinical perspective to multi‑disciplinry team

• Expereince liaising and offering consultation to referring agencies and external professionals

• Take a lead role in the assessment, care and psychological treatment of young people and their carers
