Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Ilminster is looking for an experienced Calibration Technician to manage calibration processes and assist with inspection and testing. Candidates should have experience in measurement equipment calibration, strong IT skills, and good communication. This role requires some heavy lifting. The company offers 26 days of annual leave and a fixed work schedule with every Friday off.

Qualifications

TheOpportunity:
This role would suit an experienced Engineering Quality Technician with experience in thecalibration of a wide range of engineering measurement and process control equipment. TheCalibration Technician will be involved in inspection, testing, sampling and report writing within this busy, hands on production role.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Calibration Management
  • Assisting in developing methods for inspection, testing, sampling and training of testers and where necessary, to inspect product and provide cover for the Quality Inspection team.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for measuring equipment and methods to ensure best practice is maintained during manufacture
  • Writing technical and quality engineering reports
  • Some calibration of engineering measurement equipment, ensuring traceability to national standards at all times
  • Minor repairs and adjustments to engineering measurement equipment as and when required
  • REQUIRES OF YOU:
  • Experience of measurement equipment calibration
  • Good knowledge and experience in the use of IT systems, specifically the Microsoft Office package
  • Quick to learn and will work efficiently at all times
  • Good communication skills.
  • Please note that there is some heavy lifting required in this role.
Associated Benefits:
26 days holiday per annum (allocated to fixed and flexible dates) plus 8 statutory bank holidays.
Working Hours: 07.00 to 16.30 Monday to Wednesday, 07.00 to 16.00 Thursday with every Friday off
