Job Specification – CAD Technician

Location: Midlands (office-based with flexible working)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join the design and engineering team. You will play a key role in producing accurate and compliant drawings to support the design and delivery of multi-utility infrastructure projects, including electricity, water, gas, and fibre networks for residential and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality CAD drawings and technical schematics for multi-utility networks.
  • Work from engineers’ designs, site surveys, and technical specifications to create compliant drawings.
  • Prepare “as-built” drawings and update revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all drawings meet company, client, and regulatory standards.
  • Liaise with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to clarify requirements and resolve design issues.
  • Maintain drawing registers and file management in line with company procedures.
  • Support tender submissions and client presentations with CAD outputs.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable).
  • Experience in utilities, construction, civil engineering, or infrastructure design preferred.
  • Understanding of multi-utility networks (electric, gas, water, fibre) desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
