Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust – CAAAS Occupational Therapist
The closing date is 13 October 2025
This post is offered on a permanent basis. The hours are part time for 22.5 hours a week.
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 to join the Children's Autism and ADHD Assessment Service (CAAAS).
CAAAS is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists and Administrators which offers assessments for Autism and ADHD for children in Gloucestershire.
The service opened in September 2022 and has been coproduced with families and developed in line with the NHS 10 year plan. As a new service we continue to develop and explore how best to offer a high quality evidence based service, while addressing significant demand and long wait times.
When the service was developed, Occupational Therapy was identified as important to support understanding of the sensory world of neurodiverse young people, alongside supporting activities of daily living and understanding motor skill differences. This role was developed to offer some limited post diagnostic support to families around these areas.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and thoughtful team member who can help us continue to offer key Occupational Therapy support to families who need it most.
The role is supported and supervised by our Band 7 Occupational Therapist.
The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.
Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:
This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
What we can offer you:
The successful applicant must have the necessary professional qualification.
The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
We aim to recruit and retain the best possible staff who, through the application of their skills, qualification and experience, will make a positive contribution to our business of providing quality health care services. It is the Trusts view that the costs associated with moving house in order to take up a post with us should not restrict our ability to recruit the excellent people we need; therefore, we support staff to relocate with our relocation policy.
