Buyer - Civil Engineering

I am supporting a Tier One contractor delivering a major long‑term nuclear civils programme in Cumbria. The project includes complex civil engineering, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks and multi‑discipline interfaces.

We are looking for a Buyer who can support procurement activity across a wide range of construction materials, subcontract packages and specialist suppliers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop within a high performing commercial and delivery environment.

Role overview
  • Manage procurement activities across multiple work streams
  • Source materials and services aligned to project requirements
  • Support purchasing, tendering and supplier negotiation
  • Maintain compliance with procurement governance standards
  • Work with commercial, engineering and logistics teams
  • Monitor supplier performance and cost control
What we are looking for
  • Procurement experience within civil engineering or construction
  • Strong commercial understanding and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers across a complex delivery environment
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

Due to the nature of the programme, you must be able to obtain SC clearance.
