About the Role

We are seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team within a heavy engineering environment. This is a pivotal role, responsible for sourcing, and managing the supply of critical materials, components, and services that support complex engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier selection through to delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and inventory teams to align purchasing with operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability objectives.
  • Drive improvements in OTIF (On Time in Full) delivery, stock accuracy, and vendor performance.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational requirements, ensuring continuity of supply.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems (SAP or similar ERP platforms preferred).
  • Commercial awareness and analytical ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Passionate about continuous improvement in supply chain and procurement practices.
  • Experienced in raising and managing purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
