Overview

Responsible for both CAPEX and OPEX procurement. The role involves managing the acquisition of goods and services necessary for Element’s ongoing operations and strategic investments, including lab and machinery maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for both CAPEX and OPEX to ensure cost‑effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential vendors for goods and services required for projects and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Support other Element Labs for sourcing / procurement, issue purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and coordinate with operation / technical teams to obtain technical compliance on vendor proposals for both OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Ensure timely receipt of purchase orders through the GRN process.
  • Monitor and analyse procurement costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align procurement activities with budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies in all procurement activities.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory and recommended trainings from time to time.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and changes in regulations that may impact procurement processes.
  • Support process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support on procurement best practices across the lab functions.
  • Generate and analyse reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to management on the status of procurement activities and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely procurement of parts and services necessary for the upkeep of lab machinery.
  • Support the facilities and maintenance team with preventive maintenance schedules to optimise equipment performance and minimise downtime.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist, or similar role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office; analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management best practices.
