A global technology company in Manchester seeks a Senior Operational Leader for a 3-month contract to provide strategic insights into operations. You will assess processes, identify risks, and map workflows to inform future direction. Candidates should have strong diagnostic skills and experience in UK operational environments. The position offers a salary between £70,000 and £75,000 per annum, with flexible working options available.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown from humble beginnings with a single computer to a global technology company (ASX-300 listed company, JIN). Partnering with over 15,000 good causes worldwide and helping raise more than $260 million last financial year. Innovation isn’t just part of what we do; it’s who we are.
We develop cutting‑edge solutions empowering our lottery and not‑for‑profit partners to raise funds for their vital causes. We believe in fostering an environment where talented people can innovate, grow their careers, develop new skills, and have fun.
At our UK Companies, StarVale and Gatherwell, we specialise in providing lottery management expertise to charities, not‑for‑profits, and hospices across the UK, helping them maximise their impact and fundraising potential.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of our UK operations by providing insight that will shape strategic decisions. You will work closely with leadership, gain deep visibility across the business, and produce deliverables that directly inform our future roadmap. You will undertake an objective, structured assessment of the current state across operations, processes, systems, people, culture, commercial performance, and compliance.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on discovery, enjoys working across all levels of an organisation, is able to turn data into meaningful insights, and brings a balanced, evidence‑based approach.
You will build a clear picture of how the business operates by interviewing staff across all levels, observing daily workflows, and identifying pain points.
You will review documentation, systems, and data flows to uncover early risks, structural issues, and capability gaps. Along the way, you will assess cultural readiness for change and establish trust and open communication across teams.
You will conduct a deeper analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement, mapping key workflows for efficiency and risk. You will review organisational structure, role clarity, and supervision, while evaluating systems, tools, integrations, and overall technology maturity. You will also assess customer and partner experience, compliance processes, and identify capability gaps, training needs, and single‑point vulnerabilities.
You will support future‑state planning by providing clarity, evidence, and analysis - without owning solution design. You will supply data and insights to the Head of Operations – UK, ensuring findings are understood and accurately interpreted. You will also participate in working sessions and Q&A to inform operating model options, a 12–18 month roadmap, leadership role design, and recruitment recommendations.
By the end of the 3‑month contract, you will have delivered an objective, evidence‑based current‑state assessment across operations, processes, systems, people, culture, commercial performance, and compliance.
You will have mapped and documented key end‑to‑end workflows, highlighted early risks and structural issues, and clearly articulated the highest‑priority capability gaps and opportunities for improvement.
You will have presented your findings to the Head of Operations – UK and other key stakeholders, providing clear options to inform the UK operating model, 12–18 month roadmap, leadership role design, and recruitment recommendations.
Success in this role will be measured by the clarity and usability of your insights, the quality of your documentation and analysis, and the extent to which your work supports confident decision‑making for the UK business.
3 months, and we also welcome applications from candidates on both an employed and self‑employed basis.
This role is based at the site in Galgate 4 days a week, with flexible 1 day a week working from home, for a fixed‑term 3‑month contract.
