Job description
Safeguard Armour – Business Operations Lead

Safeguard Armour, a global provider of tactical equipment, is seeking an organised and systems‑thinking Business Operations Lead to join our growing company. In this high‑impact role you will sit at the centre of the business – driving operational rhythm, performance management and cross‑functional delivery to support our ambitious expansion plans across 30+ countries.

Our team is a small elite group of around 15 people, supported by 50–100 partners across sales and supply.

Our Goal

To increase revenue in our armor and equipment division from £5 million to £20 million within the next 3 years.

What You’ll Do

Run Business Performance & Cadence

  • Build and own the operating rhythm: weekly leadership reviews, KPI dashboards, action tracking and decision logs.
  • Ensure priorities are clear across Sales, Product, Supply Chain and Operations – and that teams deliver against them.

Define KPIs, Targets and Accountability

  • Lead KPI design across functions (commercial, operational, delivery, quality, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, tender conversion, on‑time delivery).
  • Translate company goals into team‑level targets and ensure owners, timelines and success metrics are in place.

Drive Cross‑Functional Execution (End‑to‑End)

  • Coordinate delivery of strategic initiatives: product launches (helmets, plates, shields, clothing line), tender readiness, new market rollouts and internal capability building.
  • Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks; elevate early and drive resolution.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Diagnose where time, money or quality is being lost across workflows (tender‑to‑order, order‑to‑cash, procurement‑to‑delivery, NPI).
  • Design and implement improved SOPs that scale, with clear handoffs and built‑in compliance.

Systems & Data (Automations, Software Development & Deployment)

  • Help drive adoption and design of new workflows, software and processes: process mapping, data quality, training coordination, UAT and reporting outputs.
  • Improve decision‑making through clean dashboards and reliable data.

Tender Ops Enablement (Execution + Win‑Rate Improvement)

  • Strengthen the tender machine: timelines, inputs, governance, win/loss insights and cross‑team coordination.
  • Ensure proposals are delivered on time, compliant and commercially sharp across police, special forces, navy and military opportunities.

Supply Chain & Delivery Reliability

  • Partner with Supply Chain to improve supplier performance, lead times, cost control and risk mitigation.
  • Support inventory strategy, forecasting discipline and service‑level performance.

Leadership Support & Strategic Projects

  • Act as a force‑multiplier for senior leadership – bringing structure, visibility and momentum to the highest‑priority business initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Highly organised, commercially aware operator with a track record of driving execution across multiple teams.
  • Confident, proactive leader who creates clarity, drives accountability and enjoys solving hard operational problems.
  • Strong communicator who can influence across functions, from senior leaders to hands‑on teams.
  • Data‑driven and outcome‑focused: track what matters and simplify complexity.
  • Adaptable, resilient and comfortable in a demanding, high‑growth environment.
  • Systems and process thinking.
