Are you an experienced and highly organised Business Manager looking for a flexible, part-time role in a supportive school environment? We are seeking a Business Manager to join our school in Chippenham, Wiltshire on a permanent contract, starting in April 2025.

Part-Time Business Manager (3 Days a Week)

Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

Start Date: April 2025

Salary: £33,366 to £35,235 pro-rata (for 3 days a week)

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the school’s business operations. You’ll be working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to manage budgets, oversee administrative functions, ensure compliance with policies, and drive operational improvements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the education sector, ideally with previous school experience, to help us maintain high standards of financial management, operations, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial management: Oversee budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting to ensure the school’s financial health and compliance with regulations.
  • Staff management: Manage HR processes including recruitment, payroll, and staff welfare, ensuring effective staffing solutions.
  • Premises management: Oversee health and safety, facilities management, and maintenance of school buildings.
  • Procurement: Manage purchasing and contracts, ensuring value for money in school supplies and services.
  • Policy and compliance: Ensure the school is compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic planning: Support the leadership team with long-term financial and operational planning.
